Use BriskTool's free tool for this task
Your iPhone takes photos in HEIC format. HEIC files are 50% smaller than JPG with the same quality. Great for saving storage on your phone. Not great when you try to upload one to a website, email it to someone on Android, or open it in a program that doesn't support it.
Convert HEIC to JPG in 5 Seconds
Open the HEIC Converter, drop your .heic file in, and download a .jpg. That's it. No app to install, no account to create, no file size limits.
Why iPhones Use HEIC
Apple switched to HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) in iOS 11 because it takes up roughly half the storage of JPG. A photo that would be 3 MB as JPG is about 1.5 MB as HEIC. When you have 10,000 photos on your phone, that adds up fast.
The Compatibility Problem
Windows didn't add HEIC support until Windows 10 (and you might need to install a codec). Many websites don't accept HEIC uploads. Email clients sometimes can't preview them. If you're sharing photos with anyone not on Apple devices, convert to JPG first.
Batch Converting Multiple Photos
If you have a bunch of HEIC files to convert, Pro users can batch process them all at once. Free users can convert them one at a time. Either way, the conversion runs in your browser and your photos never get uploaded to a server.
