Use BriskTool's free tool for this task
You have 50 photos from a shoot. You need to add your name or logo as a watermark before sending proofs to clients. The old way: open each in Photoshop, add text, export, repeat 50 times. The new way: drop all 50 into a workflow and get them back watermarked in under a minute.
Quick Method: Watermark One Photo
For a single image, use BriskTool's Watermark Tool:
- Upload your image
- Type your watermark text (or description of placement)
- Choose position: center, corner, or diagonal repeat
- Adjust opacity (30-50% is typical for proofs)
- Download
Everything runs in your browser — your photos are never uploaded to any server.
Batch Method: Watermark 50+ Photos at Once
For multiple photos, use the Workflow Builder:
- Open the Workflow Builder and search for "watermark"
- Select "Watermark Photos (Batch)" or "Photo Delivery Pipeline"
- Configure your watermark text and position
- Click "Batch" and drop all your photos
- Download everything as a ZIP with properly named files
The "Photo Delivery Pipeline" recipe goes further: watermark + resize to 2400px + compress to 85% quality. Everything a photographer needs for client proof delivery.
Watermark Position Guide
For Client Proofs: Diagonal Repeat
The diagonal repeat pattern covers the entire image with your text at an angle. This prevents clients from cropping out the watermark. Set opacity to 30-40% so the image is still visible but unusable without purchasing.
For Portfolio Sharing: Bottom Corner
A subtle watermark in the bottom-right corner identifies your work without distracting from it. Set opacity to 50-70%. This is appropriate for social media and portfolio websites.
For Stock Photos: Center
Stock photo watermarks should be centered and prominent enough to prevent unauthorized use. Set opacity to 40-50% with a larger font size.
Text vs. Logo Watermarks
BriskTool supports both text and logo watermarks:
- Text watermarks are simpler — just type your name, adjust font size and color
- Logo watermarks overlay a transparent PNG (like your business logo) on the image. The logo's transparency is preserved, and you can adjust the overlay opacity and scale.
Tips for Effective Watermarks
- Don't overdo opacity — 30-50% lets the image show through while still protecting it
- Use white text with a dark stroke — visible on both light and dark images
- Keep text short — your name or website, not a paragraph
- For print proofs, use diagonal repeat — it can't be cropped out
- For web portfolio, use a corner placement — less intrusive
Privacy
All processing happens in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded to any server. For professional photographers handling client work, this is essential — you can watermark wedding photos, corporate headshots, or sensitive images without any privacy concern.
