Technical Details
GIF uses LZW (Lempel-Ziv-Welch) lossless compression with a maximum color palette of 256 colors per frame. Animation is achieved through multiple image frames with individual delay timings. Each frame can have its own local color table or share the global color table. The format supports a 1-bit transparency channel (fully transparent or fully opaque).
