BriskTool is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
1. Our Commitment
BriskTool ("BriskTool," "we," "us") is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
We believe that every user deserves equal access to information and functionality. Accessibility is not just a compliance requirement — it is a core value that guides how we design and build our tools.
2. ADA Title II Compliance
In accordance with the updated ADA Title II requirements (effective April 24, 2026), BriskTool is working to ensure that our web content and digital services meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria. This includes:
- Ensuring all public-facing web pages are perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust
- Providing alternative text for non-text content
- Making all functionality available from a keyboard
- Ensuring content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies
- Regularly reviewing and updating our accessibility practices
3. Current Compliance Status
We have implemented the following accessibility features across BriskTool:
- Skip to content link on every page for keyboard navigation
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements, including our command palette (Ctrl+K / Cmd+K)
- ARIA labels and roles for dynamic content and interactive components
- Color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements in both light and dark themes
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels up to 200%
- Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements
- Form labels properly associated with their input fields
- Alt text for all meaningful images
- No auto-playing media or flashing content that could trigger seizures
- Dark mode support to reduce eye strain and improve readability
- Consistent navigation across all pages
4. Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas may have known limitations:
| Area | Limitation | Workaround |
|---|
| File drag-and-drop zones | Drag-and-drop may not be fully accessible via screen readers | All file inputs also support the standard file picker button |
| Image/video preview | Visual previews may not have text alternatives for all states | File metadata (name, size, type) is always provided as text |
| Third-party ad content | Google AdSense ads may not meet all accessibility standards | Pro plan removes all advertising |
We are actively working to resolve these limitations and improve accessibility across all tools.
5. Testing Methods
We use a combination of automated and manual testing methods to evaluate and maintain accessibility:
- Automated testing with axe-core, Lighthouse, and WAVE evaluation tools
- Manual keyboard testing to verify all functionality is operable without a mouse
- Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
- Color contrast analysis using WebAIM Contrast Checker
- Browser zoom testing up to 200% magnification
- Responsive design testing across mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports
6. Assistive Technology Compatibility
BriskTool is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Switch devices and other alternative input methods
7. Ongoing Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are committed to:
- Regularly auditing our website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards
- Training our development team on accessibility best practices
- Including accessibility requirements in our design and development process
- Addressing reported issues promptly
- Monitoring changes to accessibility laws and standards to maintain compliance
